Making 16 Delicious Tortilla Wraps From Scratch
In a pyrex dish add in some water followed by some all-purpose flour and then olive oil. Sprinkle in a little salt and baking power and mix everything up. You can also use whole wheat flour as well. This is the last of my all purpose flour.
Kneed the dough and when you are done cover it up with a cloth on top for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes lift the cloth, take out the dough and cut it into 16 individual and even size pieces. Then cover it up again. The bread is not going to rise but it will soften up and get easier to make after some time.
Now you can start making the tortillas. Take a piece out and place it on the kitchen counter. With a rolling pin, start to roll out the dough and make it as flat as possible. It does not have to be a perfect round circle unless it is important to you.
When it is flat place it on a frying pan using no butter or oil. Have the temperature at medium heat.
The first wrap will take up to one minute for it to cook properly on both sides.
After that it takes between 30-45 seconds to make the rest. While one tortilla is baking on the pan get the next one ready.
Each time one is baked, place it in a container and cover it up to maintain its freshness.
When you reach the last two tortillas turn the stove off and they will cook on low heat. After they are all done, close the lid of the container to keep it warm and fresh.
You are done.
These are delicious.
If you are not making something using the tortillas right away, let them cool down. When it is cool, put the container in the fridge and take it out when ready.
Out of the 16 tortillas, eight of them are used for one kind of meal. The second batch of 8 tortilla wraps are for another kind of meal.
Both versions coming soon.
