Why Do We Give Sweets To Sweets On Trick Or Treat?
Sweets For Sweets On Trick Or Treat
If children are already cute and sweet, why would they need what they already are? They do not. The trickery on eating sweets begins at a young age for us all. It is programming us to become addicted to something our body simply does not need. This is the trick behind eating the treat. By eating these treats they will rot your teeth.
The following list below are 6 ways to stay safe on Halloween.
A Little Information About Sugar
Before I share this though, consuming sugar is a world wide agenda against our health which must be addressed first.

Is Halloween A Happy Day?
Halloween Culture Take Over In North America
Halloween used to be one of my favourite days of the year but not anymore. The interest stopped over a decade ago. Nevertheless, just because I stopped celebrating it this does not mean that others will stop as well. Halloween candy, sugar and sweets is big business for so many industries.
Celebrating Halloween that is full of tricks and treats every year is one of the reasons why our dentist is driving an Audi Prestige. Meanwhile his 40 year old toothless patient parks in his parking lot in a 2010 Honda Civic and walks out with a pair of new dentures. His bill is over $2300.00, just an estimated guess. Dentists charge a lot of money, even if they say you can claim it on your insurance.
How Is Sugar Good For Children?
The Harmful Effects Of Sugar
Sugar affects the brain and the body, our health and our livelihood. Getting children to eat sugary foods at a young age will easily cause addictions when older. When life is tough the response to sooth a child has been resolving it with candy and junk food. Instead of getting to the root of the issue while young, a child gets sugar coated candies and chocolates of all kinds.
Sugar is a trigger to make a person believe that it can be a substitute of the natural joy that is getting depleted from within the child. That natural joy is being taken away in other areas of their lives.
The solution children are being given to their problems is to go silent and eat sugar. This is one of the major reasons why obesity is on the rise. Most of the shows based on obesity acknowledge that the root of the problem that got children onto sweets and junk food was some form of neglect or abuse.
Celebrate Good Times
Sugar is celebrated and sung about as the solution to our problems when it is a problem on top of our problems. We are raised with false teachings when the truth is that sugar is the cause of several issues pertaining to the decline in ones health.
As the famous movie Mary Poppins sings to two little children who have lost their mother, “Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down, the medicine go down…”- The truth is that sugar is not medicine but will lead you on the path of being stuck on pharmaceutical medicine if you get addicted to it.
A mother’s love is the sweetest kind of love a child will find comfort in, if one is so fortunate. When that love is not present, it can lead to many emotional imbalances. How are the children being soothed and taken care of in the movie Mary Poppins? Sugar! No parents are around, not even their father. He shows no affection to the children.

Is Sugar Addictive?
Studies Show The Dangers Of Sugar
There have been months long studies conducted in labs on mice who were given two options. Either the mice can choose to take an illegal white powder drug or go for some sugar. The mice tried both sides. The result showed that all the mice went to sugar and finished it all up. They ended up gaining weight and could barely move. These mice chose a legal ingredient used in our kitchen that is more harmful to our health over an illegal drug.
Sugar is more addictive than illegal drugs on the streets and yet we devote a full day tricking and treating children with it. Every single year we dress up as someone else and consume sweets that rot our teeth. Or we serve sweets to others so that they rot their teeth while we are happy watching them fall to the wayside.
Sugar is a legal ingredient used for baking and added in our teas and coffees. There is no age limit on how much sugar one can eat even after their body gives out. However, there is a limit one can consume before the body begins to shut down.
Does Sugar Have Health Benefits?
Sugar Affects Your Health
Sugar causes a lot of problems in ones health and it does not have any health benefits. It is the main culprit for diabetes, heart disease, obesity, tooth decay, lethargy, lack of motivation, mood swings and much more. Consuming sugar does not benefit our health at all, yet our industry sells sugar like it is the elixir to life. It is also highly addicted.
Consuming a lot of sugar is the reason why medical surgeons are very wealthy. They are driving a Porsche living in a 4 million dollar house while their patients live in a rented apartment, riding a bus, working 40 hours a week with no vacations.
The effects of sugar is that it makes your health and wealth poor while your doctors pockets continue to get rich. Most of your doctors and dentists proudly show off their teeth with a big smile on and they will tell you to smile while they take all your money.
Is Halloween The Horror?
The Scary Truth
Halloween is such a popular day in North America. There is no point telling a child that sugar will rot their teeth and cause tons of problems to their health in the future. Well, at least not on Halloween. If you can teach them the harmful effects of eating sugar in a subtle non invasive way, try it. Give them an opportunity to figure it out on their own by showing them examples of what happens when we consume too much sugar.
This way they can decide whether they want to stay tricked for the rest of their lives. Although at a very young age children are already hooked on candy. Celebrating Halloween is a North American horror story because it is full of tricks and messy treats.
There is nothing we can do to stop candies, tricks and treats from taking over our world. Children grow up into adults and are still addicted to sugar. The addiction does not stop. Then it gets scary. Sugar gets into our adult life, takes over and wreaks havoc in our bodies. It is the main reason why hospitals are full and so many people remain sick.
Well, now that I got all the harmful effects of sugar on our health out of the way, if you still decide to go out for Halloween, here are some tips on staying safe.
How Can I Stay Safe On Halloween?
The Following Suggestions Are 6 Ways To Protect Yourself On Halloween
1. Go In Small Groups
Before you go out on this day make a plan with your friends and their children to go out together. Walk on the streets that are fully lit and stay together in small groups of 4-8 children so that no child is left alone. Hopefully a parent is able to come along.
If a guardian goes with a child but does not wish to go with others then walk in well lit neighbourhoods. Only go to houses that have their outside lights on. Stay outside during a busier time when other kids and parents are out as well. Carry a small flashlight with you, just in case it is too dark.
2. Examine Your Treats
Examine everything when you come home. Wash your hands and then lay out your candies on a large table. Parents can check to see that there are no open packages or candies. Anything that looks remotely questionable is thrown away without hesitation.
3. Open The Candies Yourself
If your child is under the age of 10 either open the wrapper for them or have them open it in front of you so that you can see what they are about to eat.
There was a news story about how a young girl found a sharp blade in a Halloween starburst candy. She took a bite and fortunately, was not injured. However, things like this are happening more frequently than we know. Again, in 2024 a news article was released about a needle found in a package of Twizzlers.
Be careful before allowing kids take a bite into something sweet they received from outside. Examine all packages to make sure that everything is safe.
4. Take A Whistle And A Phone Before You Go
If kids are going out on their own without a parent or older guardian, have them carry a whistle. It is lightweight and can be wrapped around their neck for easy access. Or they can hide it in their pocket. As long as it is easy to take out. Teach them to blow it anytime they feel unsafe. As cheesy as it may seem, you never know these days.
Also, do not allow them to go alone. Children should always go together and no child should walk alone at night. If they feel scared or see someone following them, teach them to yell, blow the whistle or call someone.
It is also a good night for kids to carry a phone. If they need to call for help they should have someone to contact right away.

5. Help One Another
Kids can work together and help one another out. If some children are walking slower, wait for them. The smaller they are, the longer it takes to go from one home to the next. There is no rush to make it to the next door. In just one hour kids can collect a lot of candy even if they are walking slowly, so take your time. Watch out for each other and be aware of your surroundings.
6. Bless Your Bag
Before your child goes out bless their halloween bag with them. Place your hands on the bag and ask for protection and whatever goes into the bag is safe to eat. Ask for guidance to visit only the right homes that are safe to go to. Pray over your bag because prayers are powerful.
Or simply skip this night altogether without the hassle and party with your kids at home. 🙂

Do Fairytales Come True?
Fairytales Coming To Life
The story of Hansel and Gretel comes to mind on Halloween. Abandoned by their parents and left to fend for themselves the children come across a pretty little house in the forest.
Enamoured by this house all made out of cookies, candies and sweets they begin to eat the house and cannot stop. Soon the witch brought them inside and fed them like royalty, but the food was all junk food. The more they ate, the more weight they gained. It was a play to set them up, fatten the children and prepare them to be eaten by the witch living inside the sweet house of treats. All tricks and treats.
This story is not far from the truth about our lives. We are tricked and we get treats to hide the tricks put on us to sooth us from the abusive witchcraft.
6 Ways To Stay Safe On Halloween
By us giving out candies to children we are now the witches, no longer in the forest but living in the cities. Instead of them eating the candies off of our homes we are feeding children sugary sweets from our own hands.
We put the candies in their bags. We are doing the dirty work for the ones making huge profits off of the kids getting rotten teeth and poor health by the time they are in their 20’s and up.
Learn from your elders. We all make mistakes.

This is really well written. Finally, someone who tells the truth like no one else is willing to. A much needed reality check for corporate greed at the cost of the health of children. God bless you!
Thank you Pedro. I appreciate the nice comment. Have a great day!
